Going green and promoting healthy pet care go hand in hand
at The Green K9. Every item in the store ? ts in at least one of these categories: recycled, recyclable, sustainable, organic, natural and made in the USA. The Green K9 offers organic and natural food, treats, vitamins, supplements and shampoos, which can help alleviate some of the common symptoms of food, environmental and ß ea bite allergies.

Recycled rubber dog toys, bamboo fabric clothing, hemp leashes and collars and corn based cat litters are among the many eco-friendly and sustainable products you can ? nd at The Green K9, located at 113 E. Main Street (352-253-5205) in downtown Tavares. To encourage green practices, reusable shopping bags are available. Customers that bring the bag back to shop at the Green K9 receive a 10% discount. If you forget your bag there are no worries, because their regular shopping bag is made of biodegrad- able corn starch.

Dog day care at the Green K9 provides socialization and exercise for dogs who are left home alone all day while their owner is at work. Other reasons why dog owners utilize day care include: showing a house for sale, a day trip shopping or to theme parks, house guests that have pet allergies or contractors working in the house.

Day care ranges from $5.00 per hour to 30 day packages at $15.00 per day. For the cost of one visit from a pet sitter, your dog can play all day in a supervised setting. The temperament test and fi rst day of day care are free, and day care packages never expire. Guests stay cool and comfortable under a gazebo with water misters, a wading pool, and an indoor play room with raised cots for rest time.

The Green K9 also provides professional dog bathing. Walkins are welcomed for nail trimming and ear cleaning.
